I kinda got told off by my mum a while ago because i forgot to feed maomao (my darling puppy doggie). and i was (surprisingly) really affected by it. so i went to my toilet hideout. and just...ask God why im being like that. like... so annoyingly sensitive. and my thoughts just started to wander.
1. Studies
You know how sometimes we really study so hard and do the best we can but our results still turn out so disappointing? I gained a new perspective on this today. We all know what God requires of us -- OUR best. I think this is something you've heard millions and millions of times. Do your best and God will do the rest. Im not saying it's wrong, it makes millions of sense but sometimes we think 'if i do my best, God will give me good results', and you expect that of God (I think you probably know what im getting at already.) but in the toilet today, this phrase just...came into my head "Do your best, and God will reward you accordingly". KEYWORD: ACCORDINGLY. Don't limit God in the ways he can reward you, and dont expect God's reward to be something YOU want.
1 Corinthians 6:17 "17 But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him."
When we are ONE SPIRIT with God, what He wants for us is what we want for ourselves. What God wants for you may not be good results. That's what you want for yourself. God's giving us a choice. Are our lives about God or ourselves? What is REALLY considered a reward to you?
Okay, my point here is, God can reward us in so many aspects and all He's asking for is us to give our best in all we do. So dont get upset if you dont get the grades you wanted.
Studying may get tiring and burdensome and we totally lose the motivation. But for me, i try to remember how the God was committed to His work when he made the earth. You dont see God taking breaks in between to slack or facebook or anything in the 6 days He created the earth. It's tiring but the joy of the Lord is our strength guys! JOY JOY JOY.
Nehemiah 8:10 "Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Colossians 3:23 (New International Version)
23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,
LETS DO IT GUYS.
2. Criticisms
My mum said that i was irresponsible today, or at least implied. and i got really upset for a while and my thoughts became more and more focused on my flaws. You know sometimes when we get criticised by classmates, teachers etc. our self-esteem gets really low and we start feeling so sucky about ourselves. STOP STOP STOP. God loves us and He reprimands in LOVE. Criticisms are not meant to bring you down. Sometimes God put people around us to teach us, to build us up, like our parents. They teach us. Don't take something God has intended for good and make into an opportunity for Satan to attack us and pull us away from experiencing God's love.
Genesis1:31 "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good."
You know im really glad i have maomao, although he got me into quite a bit of trouble today but with my maomao i find it so much easier to relate to God. For instance, today while i was napping, I let my dog roam around the house (he usually stays in the kitchen when no one's there to keep an eye on him cause he pees). And then my mum came home which woke me up AND she spotted a puddle of pee near the door while i was in dreamland=/ DIE. so I got told off for not putting maomao back in the kitchen. Okay, yesyes i was kinda irresponsible, but that's not the point. the point is, i was really disappointed in/ felt angry at maomao. I gave him the freedom to go wherever he wants but he just had to pee on furniture and not in his toilet. and i could relate to how God felt when He gave us the freedom to do whatever we want but we choose to disobey Him. and and how adam and eve ate from the forbidden tree? yeah. it really sucks. maomao did it to me....a few times and i did it to God 3850978080328420918 times. so it's must have sucked for God 56850978043838052 times more than it sucked for me.
that was just a random thought. but yeah (:
i need to pee. bye guyssssss

*i HAD to make "DON'T LIMIT GOD" so huge because it's really something we can apply to every aspect of our lives. Remember those three words.
