Of Seeds and Trees

and this week has been slightly less hectic, and yet still stressful at the same time.
but yes, God's been upholding me so, no complaints ((:

Well, i was searching for "Beautiful Seed" lyrics and i came across this;

"I think that a seed is a wonderful metaphor for our lives. We are all like seeds. Seeds grow unseen in the soil and then sprout, and some seed become the biggest, most majestic trees and others grow to eventually bear wonderful fruit, and yet others, grow to provide shade. We are like trees. When we are in our mother's womb, no one can see us growing, but we are there. And all the potential for our lives is present in that moment, small as we are at that point in our lives, we are who we are now because of what we've gone through. And just knowing that, makes me sad to read about the increasing numbers of abortions that occur. People have forgotten that all the potential for life comes from something small, seemingly insignificant, seemingly lifeless."
- Corrinne May

And i thought about it for a while. it struck me that, yes we are like seeds, and in the parables, our faith are like seeds. Small, but it will grow, and from this seed, we all grow to become different people, with different futures altogether. Like seeds, we can be blown away, we can wilt, we can fall away, get struck down.

For trees, their roots are most important, and then us? What is it that holds us down firmly, what is it that keeps us from falling away, from wilting?

Is it our relationships with the people around us?
Is it the pleasures of the world?
Or is it the promises that we hold so close to our hearts?

And i start to wonder, what is it that holds me together, that keep me from falling apart when rain and storm comes my way. and yes, like many people they can just say the model answer, the one that cannot be challenged.

God; he is the one holding us down, holding me down.

But there is a difference in just putting it across and acknowledging it. And sometimes when the storms come and the rain falls, like trees, we fall apart. And yet the difference is that unlike being left alone, to be picked up and thrashed away, we're replanted by the hands of God. We're carefully and lovingly held in the arms of our maker, and there he would be watching us grow again, watering us, feeding us, caring for us.

"and God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
Hebrews 13:5

Sometimes i think that what really breaks the heart of God is not when we keep falling, or when we keep making mistakes in our life. I think what really breaks his heart is when we forget that even in the midst of all that, he is there. What really breaks his heart is when we leave him out of the picture. I think what really adds to that hurt is when we make the mistakes, when we fall, we know he's there and yet we don't lean on him for the support that we know he can give.

What hurts so much is when we shrivel AWAY from him instead of TO him.
And sometimes, i think i tend to depend so much more on myself than on him. And i think, it took me quite a while to finally realise that even with all the mistakes i make, i can never be unworthy of his love. Because his love is there for me to keep, whether i like it or not.

And the same for you, no matter what you've done, no matter how far you've been from him, no matter how unworthy you feel, how undeserving you think you are. No matter whatever, he'll always love you. Period. So what's holding your life together?

I hope that when you say He is, that you really mean it. It's not just a model answer, but it's a fact. Until you acknowledge the fact that you need him, life is never going to be as easy. And to end it all, to sum up how much God loves you SALTies (or whoever's reading) here's a verse. ((:

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither present nor future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38

Hope all these make sense to you ((: I LOVE YOU SALTIES.
and thank you WAN XIANG for the loveliest skin ever ((:
God Bless you all this week. See you Monday dears!

There is hope in every heartbeat
